Construction Management – General Contracting – Property Management

About

PointsNorth Construction Management LLC opened its doors in June 2014 for a portfolio of clients who were looking for a well-educated and sophisticated Project Management Team.   Our Team is capable of a multitude of Projects and timely, cost-effective delivery. PointsNorth is always seeking a variety of clients with unusual demands and an expectation of success.

We take pride in using the latest cloud-based software for Project Management, scheduling, cost tracking, documentation, safety and quality control. Always seeking to be at the forefront, we believe that the underlying factor to a successful construction Project is proper planning from the outset. Using your own architect or any of our partner firms we can develop a scope and schedule to meet your needs rather than operating as separate entities. We enjoy being involved from  a Project’s conception, in order to help the Owner and Design team articulate the best combination of price and performance.

We often prefer to work on Commercial projects because our staffing schedules are laid out to avoid overlap and we believe that our undivided attention on a Project helps contribute to its on-time and on-budget success. The nature of some residential work is often much more personal and not quite as clearly defined, making it harder for us to meet a set deadline or cost. If your Project falls into the residential category, please feel free to reach out and discuss it further before assuming we are not interested.

We employ predominately non-union subcontractors that we have worked with for years and therefore have the utmost belief in their abilities. All of our subcontractors have to meet our safety, ethical and financial requirements and we feel they best represent the ideals of PointsNorth. Given the right opportunity, we also have relationships with many union subcontractors, enabling us to perform work in any building or on any site a client may have.

PointsNorth runs a fine line between the definitions of Construction Manager and General Contractor. We offer the price advantages and lower overhead of a General Contractor with the sophistication of a Construction Manager. We have chosen to directly employ only Project Managers and Supervisors leaving the talented labor pool to our Subcontractors. This enables us to be more competitive and match the right labor force with a specific project type and demands.

We will consider all types of contracts after helping advise you of the risks and rewards of each. Lump Sum, Cost Plus, and incentive based contracts are the most common. We carry full General Liability and Workman’s Compensation insurance, as well as the Umbrella Policy that many of our larger clients require. Please reach out to us to discuss your specific needs.
